It was the summer of 1988 when I volunteered at a local hospital. I was lucky enough
to observe a cataract procedure in the operating room. The surgeon allowed me to
look through his teaching microscope and watch his every move. What an impression
that made on me as a young teenager! That was the day I knew I wanted to be an eye
doctor! Ten years later, I graduated from the School of Optometry at Indiana University
at the age of 24.
As a Doctor of Optometry, part of my commitment to my patients is ongoing
professional education. I am a licensed optometrist with a Therapeutic Pharmalogical
Agents (TPA) certification for the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. I
was one of the first few optometrists in the State of California to be certified to treat
glaucoma. I am a member of the California Board of Optometry and also certified by the
National Board of Optometry.
As an on-going commitment to the community, I have served as a clinical examiner for
the National Board of Examiners of Optometry for many years. I also enjoy volunteering
at local school vision screenings and educating the public about the importance of
regular eye exams.
It has been a dream of mine to open my own optometric boutique. After more than
a decade of clinical practice, my dream has finally come true! Uber Eyes Optometry
opened its doors in Dec 2010. I take pride in getting to know all my patients and their
family. I am dedicated, as always, to providing excellent care to all my patients and
continuing to contribute to my community.
